University of Pittsburgh solo show

I've been invited to do a solo exhibition at the Conney M. Kimbo Art Gallery located in the main floor of the student union building at the University of Pittsburgh. The show went really well - I received several emails from students who were inspired by my work.

Sunday, October 18th, 2009

In addition to the solo show, I taught a workshop on mixed media art. I got a lot of great feedback from the students - they created some wonderful mixed media art. I hope to come back to Pitt and teach again in the future. Thanks to everyone who helped make this possible!

The Shoe
"The Show" was a lot of fun - there was some really great artwork from artists of all ages and mediums - Painting, Illustration, Drawing, Jewelry, & Mixed Media.

I'm honored to have been chosen as the Special Guest. It was really awesome to display my work along with some of my former art teachers and mentors, and also to meet the younger artists who are still in school.

"The Show" was held at Treesdale Community Center in Gibsonia, PA.

Thanks to Ryan Lammie for organizing everything!

2009 Three Rivers Arts Festival

The 50th Annual Three Rivers Arts Festival in Pittsburgh, PA, was great! I sold several works of art, one-of-a-kind purses and jewelry. It keeps getting better every year! Look for me next year - I plan on selling prints of my work.

Also, I made the Post-Gazette: "Festival an eclectic mix of artistry" by Mary Thomas.

Art All Night - Art All Night is the only uncensored, non-juried, free art show in Pittsburgh. It brings together the whole gamut of creative expressions ranging from children's finger paintings to amateur landscapes to professional conceptual artists, and it keeps getting better every year. The quality of work was really impressive at this show. It's great to see so many people enjoying themselves, brought together by art and the common creative spirit.

Several of my paintings - including Aliens Playing Yahtzee - were featured in a kitchen display designed by local interior designer Melodie Schooley, owner of Arrangements With Style. This event brought me a lot of press and hundreds of new people saw my work and my website! Click here and check out the KDKA news clips.

Pittsburgh Technical Institute's Arts Exploration Day

This was a really worthwhile experience. I got the chance to talk to other professional artists, photographers, web designers, and interior designers, as well as many young students who are interested in pursueing a career in the arts. I received good advice and I gave good advice - it was a very productive afternoon and I look forward to being a part of it next year.

The opening reception for "Yes. Thank You." at the Brewhouse Space 101 was a great success! I saw many of my closest friends and met some amazing artists. I also got to check out some of the artist studios and lofts in the Brewhouse - they were super awesome (and huge!). The exhibition was really engaging because of the variety of work in contained, including sculpture, painting, fibers, installations, ceramics, wall art, video... a little bit of everything. For a small space, it'll keep your interest for a long time.
